Flock Café –Tiong Bahru Feels Good

A family-run café, Flock’s atmosphere is deliberately relaxed. Started from our love of Singapore cafe, good company, we seek to let our customers feel what we love so much about relationships
FLOCK CAFE  is a casual eating and drinking spot extremely popular since it’s presence. Serving good coffee and tasty food, this place is not to be missed. They have very nice warm ambience, with a mix of different shades of wooden tables and minimalist designs bound to bring out that contrast of your food when photographed together.
Flock Cafes in Singapore are a tiong bahru. And as we all know, brunch is becoming a staple in most of our daily Singapore lifestyles nowadays, allowing for a late morning sleep-in especially during weekends.
So we said ‘hey, let’s find the best cafes in Singapore that serve brunch!.A huge aficionado of the breakfast-lunch combo myself, with its plethora of egg dishes.
I often find myself spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing brunch places to dine from. There are just too many! we managed to narrow it down to a few noteworthy Singapore cafes serving brunch that are definitely worth the trip for a fully satiated stomach this weekend
Set in a very modern, white and minimal space, Luxe portrays the Australian cafe feel and bring it to you right here in Singapore. It is also spacious and quite like a Scandinavian dining space in a big cozy house. Luxe is ideal for groups of people wanting to eat together too with a couple long, communal tables.
I felt that the fixtures and artwork used in the place were really classy and elegant, yet doesn’t make you feel like you have to be dressed to the nines in order to fit in
flock café  are made with only the best beans, which means the Speakeasy Blend. It has a medium body with hints of chocolate and nutty overtones.
All lovingly roasted by our friends over at Liberty good café in Singapore
Flock Cafe Coupled with our selection of music and modern industrial décor, we’re sure you will definitely feel at home.Nestled in a quiet enclave in  Tiong Bahru, Flock Café in  tiong bahru provides the backdrop for that business meeting or the perfect spot to while the day away.
We know you cherish your personal space, that’s why we have deliberately kept seating comfortableFlock Café is the café at the further end at Moh Guan, a walking distance near where the hipsters would hang out at Yong Siak.
At least it can be truly called an indie café, whereas some of the other ‘indies’ are not exactly ‘independent’. Needs a bit of pushing though, as it is not in the limelight compared to the other Tiong Bahru cafes, or the district is just saturated.
Flock Café is run by a family of four siblings. The good is you get a sense of a comforting, relaxed ambience where the crew could know the regulars by their first name. On the flipside, some of the finer sides of café such as serving and baristaring may not be as polished as the more commercial cafes.
Décor is minimalist, part-industrial, part-you are feeling like at home with its clean white furniture with sky blue accents. The tables are placed at a distance such that you won’t exactly hear what the next table is conversing, and could be a chill-out place to quietly read a book.
According to co-owner Edith, the word “Flock” represents groups of like-minded people coming together, be it friends and or family members who share a common interest in food, coffee or music.
Flock Café does have a family-run feel. While its items and coffee (from Liberty) could be standard fare, its laid back and very unpretentious setting could win you over. Definitely feels more real than some of the other cafes in the same area.
The Place Are you a fan of original Flock Cafe at Tiong Bahru estate? By the same group of people, I found out lately that Flock Cafe has officially opened its second outpost at Ghim Moh since the start of the year, within walking distance to Holland Village and Buona Vista MRT stations. I always find modern cafes within old estates charming, which explains why it is relatively easy for me to fall in love with the Ghim Moh branch even without trying the food. The cafe is not huge, which can probably accommodate less than thirty people at one go. I like the simplistic and somewhat minimalist look to the cafe, think wooden tables and Peranakan inspired floor tiles, and a gigantic chock board which showcases the full menu at Flock Cafe.
The Food For a small cafe, I am surprised by the variety offered in the menu. Not too overwhelming in terms of choices, but there is bound to be something to everyone’s liking. Choose from the All-Day breakfast, Meats & Fish, Pastas and Bar Bites sections. Beverages wise, the cafe has recently obtained its alcohol license so there are a few ciders and beers for now (and probably more brands to come). I am still a coffee person when it comes to cafe so I was already firmed on having my dose of caffeine.
A lot of thought has clearly been put into the decor and interior design at Flock. The space is modern and clean while the usage of warm lighting makes the place very warm and cozy – perfect for a long afternoon catching-up session with loved ones and I liked how the windows allow for maximum natural light. It’s lovely how they’ve managed to make the small space seem spacious and you don’t get the feeling like you’re intruding on the next table’s conversations.
As adorable as the written menu on the wall may be, it can also be quite hard to make sense of it when trying to decide what to order and when that happens, just approach any of the friendly staffs – they’ll be glad to be able to help.
